This commission is responsible for overseeing the physical facilities of the parish. This includes supervision of the sexton and housekeeper and of routine maintenance, inspections, and improvements. With the support and direction of the Vestry, the Buildings and Grounds Commission also carries out plans for extraordinary and long-range renovations and improvements.
This commission assists the Rector in planning and implementing programs for Christian growth. These include adult and children's Sunday morning programs, the Catechumenate, family conferences, retreats, special speakers series, Advent and Lenten programs, Vacation Bible School, Children's Chapel, and the parish youth groups.
The ministry of the Care Commission is to be available to those in our parish who have special needs. Its members visit those who are hospitalized, homebound, or in nursing homes. They provide transportation to church for Sunday services and other programs and, along with the ECW, they seek to assist families at times of death and other critical moments.
The Finance Commission is charged in the fall of each year with the responsibility of presenting a proposed budget for the following year to the Vestry, for overseeing the management of parish trust funds, and for carrying out Vestry policies and guidelines.
From time to time, gifts are made to the parish in memory of loved ones. The Memorials Commission has the responsibility of recommending to donors and the Vestry purposes for which these gifts might appropriately be used in the ministry of the Church.
The Outreach Commission oversees our ministry to those beyond our walls. We are called to serve those in need not only in our community, but also throughout the world. This commission sets policy, reviews requests, distributes parish funds available for outreach, and initiates outreach programs in which parishioners may actively participate through the donation of time, talent, and prayer as well as financially.
The mission of the Church is
carried out through the stewardship of Christians' giving of their money,
time, and talent to the work of Christ in the Church. The Stewardship
Commission is charged with responsibility of teaching and leading in
stewardship by calling us to give generously of ourselves as God gives
generously to us.
St. Paul urges all Christians to "look for
opportunities to be hospitable." (Romans 12:13, NJB) The ministry of
this commission is to help not only with greeting and welcoming
newcomers to Our Saviour, but also with implementing a way of
incorporating them into the overall life and ministry of the Body of
Christ in this parish. We want all who come to us to know that they are
not only welcomed here in the Name of Christ, but are wanted as fellow
servants and as our brothers and sisters in Him
